Interior Design of a Home Working with Skip and Nancy Pucci was a joy. Skip, being a prominent builder in town, was very capable of creating a dream home. We worked in tandem to formulate the design elements of the exterior as well as the colors and textures. The interior spaces were large and had dramatic views of Lake Pend Oreille.

Design challanges exsisted at every turn. The main entry connected directly to the living room and stairs.

This space, although large, needed to be warm and inviting.

Interior Design of a Living Room The living room needed a sense of human scale with its large floor to vaulted ceiling fireplace and the floor to ceiling windows. Utilizing wood trim and panels and by lowering the level of light with wall sconces helped to add warmth.

The greatest challenge of the space was the lighting. There were limitations to the use of cans and so we needed to be very creative in our choices. Small tracks were mounted to the sides of the beams and pendant lights, sconces, and chandeliers make up the bulk of the light.

Nancy worked hard to stain and prep the exterior.

Interior Design of a kitchen and dining area We took full advantage of the natural beauty of the location, by using many local stones and lumber products. The fireplace rock was hand picked by Skip and Nancy. Slates were chosen for the entry floor and the guest baths. Local craftsmen custom made all the cabinets out of lumber harvested from family land.

This home truly is a jewel in the gem state.
