The design direction for this powder bath stems from the fact that it is the first room one sees when one enters the home. Therefore the client wanted a stunning visual element to capture the view. A large hand chipped sandstone slab was cantilevered out from the wall to act as the counter. Using an understated clear glass bowl and simple faucet helped to minimize the impact of the fixtures as being a "bathroom". Creative wire mesh sconces and custom mirror add character to the room. Even the wallpaper is woven silk to bring elegance to the space. The trend in design is to utilize understated elegance to capture the fell of a space. |
